BRUTALIST INSPIRATION

Block  is a lounge armchair inspired by the Brutalist architectural movement.

As a reinterpretation of the classic lobby chair the Block armchair has a clear and blunt construction : two massive blocks of walnut squeeze the soft upholstered seat and back. The two blocks give the armchair its geometric and singular look.

JONAS LUTZ

THE DESIGNER

Finnish-born designer Jonas Lutz creates objects of bold simplicity which are inviting to the touch. The foundation of his form language lies in a deep understanding of the inherent qualities of materials and process.

Elegant solutions are visible in the way that parts intersect to form a unity, projecting both subtlety and strength. Jonas finds inspiration in Nordic furniture traditions as well as in the lively design culture of his adopted country of the Netherlands.

Jonas Lutz studio is located in Rotterdam. He studied at the Carl Malmsten furniture school in Stockholm, Sweden and graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven.
