home the collection cymbal

Cymbal is a simple yet intriguing pendant lamp. Cymbal shaped disks of black, chrome or gold steel diffract the light in every direction and trick the perception while reflecting the environment.

Cymbal works alone or in a chandelier setting of 3 or more, each lamp reflecting each other.

When looked at horizontally, the chrome and gold version almost looks like transparent glass while in fact it shows the distorted reflection of what is behind the lamp. As a result, Cymbal will literally merge into any background.

Jean-Baptiste is the cofounder and art director of La Chance since 2012.

Jean-Baptiste was a design geek from a young age : “ On my bedside table when I was 15, you could find books on Ruhlmann or Eames and I spent my Saturdays in Saint-Germain district furniture of at the flea markets.” 10 years after, the passion was still intact when Jean-Baptiste decided to leave the investment found he was working for and revert to his first love.
