Flag is a rug built as an accumulation of superimposed colored shapes.
Designer Marta Bakowski is centered on collages of gouache papers. Flag is the result of her abstract research on the interaction of monochromatic blocks and series of straight lines, creating combined colors and a feeling of depth.
The drop shadows -a nod to the 80s and 90s aesthetics- combined with the different pile height reinforce the 3D effect.

THE DESIGNER
Marta is a French designer of Polish origin. She graduated from Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Arts in London, before she joined Hella Jongerius' team in Berlin for almost two years.
She finally comes back to Paris in 2013 and launches her own design studio where she imagines objects that celebrate color and material with simple and graphics shapes.

Marta also designed for La Chance two other products : Happy Rain, a wallpaper full of joy and energy, and Sorcier, a wall light inspired by the ritual Ngil masks of the Fang tribe in Gabon. The light diffuses through the perforations in the mask and shines upward in a graphic and gentle way.
