FREDERIK WERNER & EMIL LAGONI VALBAK image

Frederik Werner and Emil Lagoni Valbak met at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts where they graduated in 2013.

Frederik Werner trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts currently works as a Designer & Partner at Norm Architects studio. He focuses on furniture and product design and works with a wide range of domestic and foreign clients. With a functional and minimalist approach, he creates coherent collections as well as unique showpieces in close collaboration with Norm Architects' clients - always striving to design distinctive and iconic products. Frederik has national and international experience, having worked in Japan and consulted for Georg Jensen for over two years.

As for Emil Lagoni Valbak, he works on both space and furniture and then on a smaller scale, as he believes that as an architect and designer, this is where you have the most freedom and opportunity to follow the process from the drawing board to the finished product. The small scale allows him to dive into the fascination with furniture and participate in the dialogue about how to create good design. An eye for proportion and how a piece of furniture can be combined in both function and form are important elements of the design process for him. The same can be said for the effect of materials on each other and the expression of the furniture. Only when you have explored all aspects can you fully exploit them and create furniture that is distinctive in both form and workmanship.
