PARA

The Para stool stands out for its design: a compact and precise silhouette, shaped by taut curves and clean transitions. Everything is a matter of proportion—height, openness, support—resulting in a calm and controlled sculptural presence.

The seat is naturally inviting. One settles onto it effortlessly, experiencing a clear stability and a sense of rightness that stems as much from its lines as from the way the object is constructed.

Para has been acquired by the National Museum of Singapore, joining the national collection dedicated to the evolution of material culture and design in Singapore.

NOBLE MATERIALS

The choice of wood is deliberately expressive: a lively bird’s-eye maple, with a distinct yet restrained grain. The finish avoids the conventional high gloss. Instead, a matte varnish absorbs the light and brings density to the material. From a distance, the wood can almost take on a mineral quality, while retaining its grain and depth up close.

Complementing the wood is an aniline leather, chosen for its authenticity. It is not intended to remain “perfect,” but rather to develop a patina, to take on marks, and to evolve in color and texture over time. Rooted in a logic of longevity—almost equestrian, like a saddle—it softens and records its history through use, without ever losing its shape.

THOUGHTFUL CRAFTSMANSHIP

Each stool is individually crafted, with an exacting level of detail characteristic of an artisan workshop: precise fittings, refined edges, seamless joints, and consistent surfaces. The wood is meticulously treated to maintain its muted matte appearance without flattening its character, while the leather is applied and stretched with the rigor of a master saddler. The execution, entrusted to an Italian artisan, reveals exactly what is expected of an exclusive edition: subtle nuances from one piece to the next, paired with an impeccable finish.
